On the morning of November 22, in Hanoi, a scientific conference took place to collect expert opinions on the draft strategy for tourism development of Nghe An to 2030, with a vision to 2035. Assoc. Speaking at the opening ceremony, Assoc. Dr. Bui Dinh Long - Vice Chairman of Nghe An People's Committee said that the province wants to develop tourism into a spearhead economic sector, a core in the overall socio-economic development of the country. Nghe An Department of Tourism has developed a draft of the provincial tourism development strategy to 2030, with a vision to 2035 on the basis of comments from departments and sectors. Based on this strategy, the province can develop projects and schemes for the strategy to become the backbone of tourism development and put it into practice in the most effective way.

At the workshop, the draft strategy team presented the contents of the development premises and the vision of Nghe An tourism to 2035; strategic goals and viewpoints; targets; typical tourism brand of Nghe An province; spatial zoning for tourism development; propose orientations for tourism development in a number of key areas, focus areas, thematic tourism spaces; orientation to connect the system of routes, points and tourist infrastructure; orientations for the development of transport infrastructure linking key tourist areas; groups of solutions for tourism development; strategy implementation roadmap; strategy implementation.

Commenting on the draft content, delegates and experts said that Nghe An has a lot of potential in terms of natural and cultural resources, but the capacity to exploit and develop tourism is still inadequate.

Nghe An tourism development strategy has a new approach in terms of both content and implementation. However, the strategy needs to have a long-term view on the road to sustainable tourism development. At the same time, consideration should be given to ensure feasibility, consistent with Vietnam's tourism development strategy in relation to the region and region, close to the actual tourism development of the province. Nghe An is a key development area of ​​the North Central region, but marketing and tourism promotion are still limited.
