EVENTS TO CELEBRATE LIBERATION DAY
AND INTERNATIONAL LABOR DAY
Liberation Day (April 30th) and International Labor Day (May 01st) are considered as one of the great public holidays. Like the whole country, all cadres, civil servants, public employees and workers in Vinh City will be leaved. The City Government together with departments, branches and unions at all levels in the area plan and implement events to celebrate this important holiday.
On these days, many streets in the Vinh City is brilliant with the red color of the national flag. The streets are splendidly decorated with national flags, banners, slogans, led lights, flowers... making Vinh city more sparkling.
Offices, schools, hospitals, companies ... in the area, hang large banners and posters to celebrate the Liberation Day (April 30th) and International Labor (May 01st). At households, right in front of the gate or on the windows (for condominium buildings) hang the national flag. The red flag with a yellow star is a sacred symbol of the Vietnamese people, expressing patriotism and national pride. It is also a symbol of solidary spirit, jointly effort to build the country, the homeland more and more prosperous. It is also an expression of our gratitude for the blood bones sacrifice of generations of fathers and brothers in the cause of national construction and defense.
Along with those activities, the city also organizes many events to celebrate. Topics change from year to year in order to be suitable with reality, associated with political and social activities of the province as well as of the city, without the lack of entertainment, cultural, sports events, the art program which is chaired by the Culture branch and coordinated with agencies, units in the locality to organize the implementation, attracting a large number of people to attend.
