Fisherman's Prayer Festival in Cua Lo town Fisherman's Prayer Festival, also known as Nghinh Ong Festival, is solemnly held by fishermen in Cua Lo town from March 14th - :- 15th of the lunar calendar every year.  This is a festival associated with the worship of Whale (Ong fish, beautiful name: Nam Hai Dai Ngu Ong) of fishermen in the sea. The festival is an opportunity for villagers to express their gratitude to Whale and the gods, and at the same time to pray for favorable wind and rain weather"; all good things, good luck. Fisherman's Prayer Festival begins with the sacrifice ceremony and the procession of the seal and ordination of Ong fish (at Lang Hieu temple - the place of worshiping him) to Cua Lach at Cua Hoi port area; The ceremony of Phung Nghinh at Ha Dung wharf and the procession of his seal and ordination back to Lang Hieu temple. Besides the ceremony, there are also special cultural activities such as cultural performances, contest of cutting and grilling mackerel, pouring fish sauce and organizing the launching ceremony to catch the southern fish crop, with a joyful and bustling atmosphere, attracting a large number of fishermen to participate. Fisherman's Prayer Festival, also known as Nghinh Ong Festival, is solemnly held by fishermen in Cua Lo town from March 14th - :- 15th of the lunar calendar every year.
