(DECANDROUS PERSIMMON TREE)

Five ancient trees in Nghi Thinh commune, Nghi Loc district, Nghe An province, have a lifespan of nearly 700 years with many standing postures, beautiful tree shapes, beautiful foliage and especially all 5 trees are associated with the long-standing cultural and historical values of the coastal land of Nghe An.

The five ancient trees all have large trunks, about 40 m high, luxuriant branches and leaves, covering the whole garden, the stump has a diameter of nearly 4 m, it takes 14 people to hug it. For many generations, the tree has been associated with the history of national construction and defense of the nation in general and of the people of Nghi Thinh and Nghi Loc in particular. Legend has it that these 5 trees were the place to tie the elephants of King Quang Trung during the military festival before going to the North to destroy the Qing army in 1789.
