LANG SEN FESTIVAL

Every year on public holidays, especially on Uncle Ho's birthday (May 19^th), people from all over the country come here to visit Uncle Ho's hometown - Kim Lien relic site - Nam Dan, Nghe An to commemorate his great merits, and to attend the Lang Sen Festival in Uncle Ho's hometown opened from the "Lang Sen Singing Festival". This is also an opportunity for popular art troupes over the country to meet, exchange and perform together.

The singing of Lang Sen and the Lang Sen Festival are cultural and artistic activities to honor and pay tribute to President Ho Chi Minh, expressing the community's affection and consciousness for Ho Chi Minh.

Thirty years ago, the National Festival "Lang Sen Singing" was first held in May 1982. Later, the Festival was upgraded to the Lang Sen Festival held annually at the provincial level and every 5 years at the national level.

After dozens of times organized, the spread of Lang Sen Festival is getting stronger and stronger, becoming an indispensable highlight in every annual celebration of President Ho Chi Minh's birthday, May 19^th, contributing to in preserving and promoting Ho Chi Minh's cultural values, and at the same time multiplying and developing the nucleus of the national mass art movement in terms of composing, performing, exploiting and disseminating in order to preserve the cultural and artistic heritage in each locality, contributing to supplement the core force for the mass cultural movement and professional art activities.

In addition to the core content which is the Lang Sen Singing Festival, Lang Sen Festival also includes many typical ritual activities such as the procession of Uncle Ho's photo following the journey from his motherland to his fatherland, the flag-raising ceremony, Lanh Tu Ca song (song to praise President Ho), offering incense, offering flowers, and reporting achievements to Uncle Ho organized by the people of Nam Dan's homeland, expressing the admiration of the people of Nam Dan in particular and the entire Vietnamese nation in general for the loved leader.
