MEMORIAL HALL FOR PRESIDENT HO CHI MINH –

NAM DAN DISTRICT

At the end of 1969, the Politburo and the Party Central Committee decided to build a memorial hall for President Ho Chi Minh at Kim Lien commune, Nam Dan district. The hall was inaugurated on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of Uncle Ho's birth (May 19, 1970). After a period of use plus the harsh climate of rain, storms, and heat, the hall has deteriorated. With the consent of the competent authorities, in 1988, towards the 100^th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birth, the armed forces of Military Zone 4 embellished and upgraded the Uncle Ho memorial hall. On the occasion of the 110^th birthday of President Ho Chi Minh (May 19, 1890 - May 19, 2000). In 2020, Nghe An province has invested in building a new memorial house for President Ho Chi Minh that is synchronous in landscape architecture with the overall relic site in accordance with the approved planning, becoming a place for activities of political theory, education of revolutionary morality, style, lifestyle and thought of Ho Chi Minh, promoting patriotic tradition, arousing national pride. At the same time, the memorial hall has met the needs of people's cultural and spiritual activities, sightseeing and tourism, becoming an attractive tourist destination associated with unique traditional cultural values of Nam Dan district and Nghe An province.

On the grounds of the memorial hall, there is also an exhibition area built in 1970, which is considered the first museum in the country to display Uncle Ho's biography. After the Ho Chi Minh museum system was formed, the display here turned into an additional display of relics with creative artistic solutions to honor documents and artifacts, create emotions and attract viewers. The entire gallery of Uncle's biography before was changed to a completely new topic: the feelings of compatriots, domestic comrades and international friends for Uncle Ho.

The presence of President Ho Chi Minh Memorial Hall helps Kim Lien Historical Relic Site complete the model of Relics - Museums - Monument, making an important contribution to promoting the people's sacred affection for Uncle Ho.
