Hung Son Commune, Anh Son District, Nghe An Province is located on the left bank of the Lam River. This is a place where mountains and rivers are far away, like a "dead" land, people's lives are extremely difficult, many people had to leave their hometown to find the promised land, but with the desire to rise out of poverty, with internal resources and support from all levels and sectors, Hung Son commune has gradually become a bright spot in building a new rural area in the mountainous district of Anh Son.

In early 2000, implementing the policy of tea tree development of Anh Son district, the commune held a conference "Dien Hong" with cadres, party members and people who had the thought of attacking the front of hunger eradication and poverty reduction. The conference made a decision to send officials and people to the Youth Volunteer Team No. 1 in Long Son commune to visit and learn tea growing techniques. Because at this time, the tea hills of Long Son commune have been giving high economic efficiency, Hung Son commune and Long Son commune have relatively similar soil and climate conditions. After that, the Secretary of Hung Son commune directed people to plant the first 3 hectares of tea, gradually, the tea growing area has increased to 27 hectares. Responding to people's efforts, tea trees quickly became charming in Hung Son commune, tea trees grew greener and greener. After 4 years, tea is harvested, twice as profitable as rice. This result has opened a new direction for the authorities and people of Hung Son commune.

In the following years, along with the efforts and determination of the commune government and the policy of supporting tea growing and development of small dams in Nghe An province, the tea growing area has gradually increased year by year, to 50, then 200, 300 hectares...Hung Son tea is delicious, where tea is produced, consumed neatly, especially when Nghe An Tea Company set up a basis for purchasing and investing in a local tea processing factory, creating excitement and increasing motivation for people to develop tea trees. The bare hills in Khe Lay area, known as the "dead" hill, have turned into green tea hills. After 20 years of construction, Hung Son commune became the tea bowl of Anh Son district and Nghe An with more than 600 hectares of LDP1 tea. In favorable places, people also dug up 42 small dams and installed automatic tea irrigation systems. Now, when we come to Hung Son commune, we can see the green and picturesque tea hills.

Along with developing tea material areas, Hung Son also established tea processing complexes and cooperatives, with a processing capacity of 100 tons of fresh tea buds/day. In 2020, Hung Son commune produced and sold more than 10 thousand tons of tea of all kinds, earning nearly 40 billion VND in revenue. In which, Hung Son green (clean) tea with beautiful design of Minh Sang green tea cooperative achieved OCOOP three-star product, available in supermarkets across the country and trusted by consumers...
