In the early morning on 05 May at the lunar calendar, the people of Tan Hop hamlet (now known as Minh Chau hamlet), Nam Thanh commune were busy slaughtering chickens, cooking sticky rice, and hand-picked decent chicken sticky rice dishes and arranged on a tray of banana leaves with all sincerity, to offer to Than Nong. In the minds of agricultural residents, Than Nong is the god who takes care of the cultivation and plowing affairs of the people, worshiping Than Nong has become a unique cultural feature in the wet rice civilization. In Nam Thanh commune, since ancient times, this custom has become a tradition of the village and the commune. On this day, around 9 am, households in Tan Hop hamlet (Minh Chau) all brought chicken sticky rice to the temple of Than Nong. Ceremony for worshiping Than Nong is held by the people of Nam Thanh commune, Yen Thanh district on the right day of the Lunar New Year every year at Than Nong temple.

In the early morning on 05 May at the lunar calendar, the people of Tan Hop hamlet (now known as Minh Chau hamlet), Nam Thanh commune were busy slaughtering chickens, cooking sticky rice, and hand-picked decent chicken sticky rice dishes and arranged on a tray of banana leaves with all sincerity, to offer to Than Nong.

In the sacred atmosphere, the celebrant on behalf of the villagers read the liturgy, praying good health, peace, good harvest for everyone.

After worshiping, according to the traditional rites, the people will ask to lower their offerings, prepare a tray, sit together under the roof of the village temple, exchange and talk, review, and be grateful to each other. The day of worshiping Than Nong has become a village festival, demonstrating the spirit of solidarity and forging more good traditions of the homeland.
