RICE TRANSPLANTING FESTIAL IN NGHE AN

The rice transplanting festival in Nghe An was held in Thinh Son commune, Do Luong district in 2020 within the framework of the 2020 Field festival.

The festival is a competition among 25 strong women who are divided into 5 transplanting teams of 5 Farmers' Associations of Thinh Son commune. Accordingly, within 15 minutes, the competition teams must ensure the technical requirements: transplanting the correct density, distance, alignment, correct number of clusters and be fast

At the end of the competition, the Organization Board awarded 1 First Prize, 2 Second Prizes and 2 Third Prizes to the competition teams.

In recent years, people often hire transplanting machine because the application of machinery and mechanization in production brings higher efficiency and productivity while the cost is cheaper. Specifically, each day the machine can transplant 8 acres of land, the cost of each pole is only 300 thousand dong. Meanwhile, traditional hand transplants are both low in productivity and expensive in costs. For hand transplanting, the money for plowing and harrowing the land is already 120,000 VND / pole, not including seed money.

However, the festival is an opportunity for people to review the production traditions of Vietnamese farmers. At the same time, it is an activity to honor the contributions of farmers; encourage farmers to enthusiastically emulate labor, good production and business, unite to help each other to enrich and reduce poverty sustainably, contribute to promoting agricultural development, building new countryside "to make the country getting greener and greener”.
