Festival at Truong Ta Temple in Hung Binh Ward, Vinh City

Truong Ta Temple, also known as Tien Canh Temple, belongs to Truong Tien block, Hung Binh ward, Vinh city, built during the Le Trung Hung period to worship Vinh citadel's two emperors, Nguyen Viet Nhung and Nguyen Viet Phu. These are two emperors who have merit in cultivating and exploiting most of the land of Vinh city today.

Every year, on the full moon day of January, the people of the old Trung My village hold a festival at the temple. Every three years in a leap year, the festival is held on a large scale. On the main day, which is January 15th, the temples in the area of ​​Trung My village hold the palanquin procession and the ordination procession of their village to gather at a place in the village such as Thinh Tien temple, Truong Ta temple, Voi Mep Temple, Nha Ong Temple. Then, under the command of a district mandarin, the palanquin team started the procession to go around  villages in the commune. Every village that has a procession passing through must organize to set up the gate, decorate the five-color flag, set up an incense stage to welcome the procession.

At Truong Ta Temple, on the 14^th, people hold a ritual and prepare to decorate processions, drums, gongs, costumes, etc. On the morning of the 15^th, the entire village's people dressed in formal attire followed the procession to participate in the village festival. The village festival takes place in 3 days and attracts a large number of people in the region.

Nowadays, the ancient rituals are gradually being restored by the People. Truong Ta temple is increasingly becoming an important cultural and spiritual place in the lives of local people.
