TAM TOA TEMPLE FESTIVAL – NGHI LOC DISTRICT

Tam Toa temple in Nghi Cong Bac commune, Nghi Loc district is located in the system of relics of Ly Nhat Quang Temple.

Every year, the government and people organize 3 big festivals at the temple, which are: Khai Sac ceremony (Full moon day of March - lunar calendar); Nam Giao sacrifice ceremony: Sacrifice to God on the full moon day of June - lunar calendar, once every 3 years in the years of the Rat, the Horse, the Cat, and the Rooster; and the death anniversary of Duc Thanh Tam Toa - Ly Nhat Quang (17 December of the lunar calendar).

Festivals at the temple are held solemnly, closely and thoughtfully. The people in Organization Committee are assigned by the government to fast for 07 days, men and women should not directly touch each other's bodies, to keep clean during the festival; offerings such as water must be taken at the intersection of three streams (stream in the mountain); Land taken on the highest mountain (high mountain) for sacrifice;   During the ceremony, if anyone does not keep the solemnity, they will be severely fined by the Government and villagers or may become ill after the ceremony. On the day of the festival, all the young and old in the area eagerly gather to the temple to participate, pray for fortune, and ask wealth for themselves and their families. The festival at Tam Toa temple exudes chivalry, the moral of drinking water, think of its source, honoring people with meritorious services to the country and the people.
